Tangokombinat DJs

The Tangokombinat DJs play traditional tango music at local milongas, encuentros, and festivals – some for more than 20 years. We present carefully balanced set with cortinas, combining rhythmical, lyrical and some more dramatic tandas.

As social dancers, we play for social dancers – not to reinvent ourselves or uncover the most obscure recordings. Our priority is inspiring, 100% danceable music that creates harmony between the ronda and the DJ. We therefore focus on popular orchestras and songs from the late 1920s to the late 1950s – an era when tango was performed and recorded for dancers rather than seated audiences or stage shows.

Sound quality matters to us. We use high-quality audio files and suitable equipment; at our international events, professional Tannoy speakers allow dancers to immerse themselves fully in the music.

Guardia Nueva: DJ Debuts in 2026

These remarkable individuals have participated in Detlef & Melina’s Teacher Training 2026 and Melina’s DJ seminars. Most have already gained their first DJing experience at prácticas and tango holidays, but this year marks their official debut as we begin a new chapter at tkRaum.
Please note that all our new team members are double rolers and have therefore an extra bonus when it comes to musical understanding.
